Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly appointed supreme leader of Iran, issued a strong warning to the United States on Thursday, saying that avenging those killed in the conflict with the United States and Israel will remain one of his main priorities.

In a statement broadcast on Iranian state television, he said that a limited part of the retaliation had already taken place but emphasized that the effort would continue until full revenge is achieved.

According to the statement, Iran maintains that it believes in maintaining friendly relations with neighboring countries. However, Mojtaba Khamenei warned that Tehran would continue targeting U.S. military bases located in those countries.

The tensions escalated after the United States and Israel reportedly launched attacks on Iran on February 28. During the first day of the strikes, several top Iranian leaders, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, were reportedly killed.

Following the incident, Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Ali Khamenei, was selected as Iran’s new leader on March 8.
