Prime Minister Orders Coordinated Action by All Ministries to Prevent Rape

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed all ministries to take coordinated action to prevent rape and violence against women across Bangladesh.

The instruction was given during the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, according to Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani.

Nasimul Ghani said the Prime Minister emphasized the need for stronger coordination among relevant ministries and departments to effectively address cases of rape and violence against women.

He also stated that the Prime Minister instructed authorities to ensure the quick disposal of rape and violence-related cases, stressing that ensuring justice for such crimes is one of the government’s top priorities.

According to the cabinet secretary, the cabinet meeting also discussed five key issues. Among them was the approval of changes in the supplementary budget for the current fiscal year, which will now be sent to parliament for final approval.
