Has Khaleda Zia arrived in London. The Chairperson of BNP, Khaleda Zia, has arrived in London for advanced medical treatment.
The air ambulance carrying her landed at London Heathrow Airport on Wednesday (January 8) at 8:58 AM local time (2:58 PM Bangladesh time).
This information has been confirmed by Shamsuddin Didar, an official from the BNP Chairperson's press wing.
Earlier, on Tuesday (January 7) at 11:46 PM, Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for London on a special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar.
The air ambulance first took her to Doha Airport, the capital of Qatar, before proceeding to London. Khaleda Zia's car left her residence in Gulshan, Firoza, at 8:15 PM and arrived at the airport at 10:55 PM.
She boarded the aircraft at 11:10 PM. A large number of BNP leaders and activists gathered along the airport road to bid her farewell.
Thousands of party members stood on both sides of the road with banners and festoons, chanting various slogans to extend their farewell wishes to their party leader.
Khaleda Zia's personal physician and a member of the party's standing committee, AZM Zahid Hossain, stated that she will be admitted to the London Clinic in the UK.
She will go directly to the hospital from the airport, where doctors will conduct examinations.
Further decisions will be made based on their (the doctors') advice. Six members of Khaleda Zia's medical board from Dhaka are accompanying her.
They are Professor Shahabuddin Talukdar, Professor FM Siddique, Professor Nuruddin Ahmed, Dr. Jafar Iqbal, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, and Dr. Mohammad Al Mamun.
Additionally, her younger son, the late Arafat Rahman Koko's wife, Syeda Sharmila Rahman, has also accompanied her.
Among the party leaders are Dr. Mohammad Enamul Haque Chowdhury, a member of her advisory council, party executive committee member Tabith Awal, and her personal secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, along with several personal staff members.
