In 2025, the annual leave will be 76 days, with a continuous break of 28 days. 

The list of annual holidays for all government and private lower secondary and secondary schools in the country for the year 2025 has been published. On Monday (December 23), a notification signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Rahima Akter, was issued, announcing the annual academic calendar and holiday list. 

The long holidays included in the published list are as follows: the holy month of Ramadan will begin on March 2. 

During this time, schools will remain closed for a continuous 28 days due to Eid al-Fitr, Jum'atul Wida, Independence Day, and several other holidays. Classes will resume on April 8 after the long break. 

There will also be a continuous 15-day holiday for Eid al-Adha and the summer vacation. 

This holiday will start on June 1 and continue until June 19. This year, there will be an 8-day holiday for Durga Puja. 

However, within this holiday period, several other observances, including Lakshmi Puja and Fateha-i-Yazdahm, will also take place. 

On the other hand, as in previous years, three days of leave have been reserved for the heads of educational institutions. 

The heads of institutions can grant these leaves as needed. Additionally, various national and international days and religious ceremonies will have holidays in accordance with the rules. 

The education leave also states: 1. The academic year will run from January 1 to December 31, 2025. 

Textbooks must be distributed in accordance with government directives. 2. 

According to the specified examination schedule, half-yearly exams, pre-selection exams, selection exams, and annual exams must be conducted, and the answer sheets of the annual exams must be preserved for at least one year. 

Each exam period will not exceed 12 working days. 3. 

Each school will prepare its own examination question papers (except for public exams). 

Under no circumstances should exams be conducted using question papers obtained from other sources. 4. 

The scheduled exam dates cannot be changed. However, if there is a special reason to change the exam date, prior permission must be obtained from the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education. 5. 

Excluding weekly holidays (Friday and Saturday), there will be a total of 76 days of leave in the year.
