Legendary actor Prabir Mitra has passed away ?

Legendary actor Prabir Mitra has passed away. 

He died on Sunday (January 5) around 10:15 PM while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital. 

Prabir Mitra was 81 years old. The news was confirmed by actor Misha Sawdagar. 

In a post on social media, Misha wrote, "Prabir Mitra dada is no more. 

He passed away a little while ago. May the Creator forgive him." Earlier, the actor's son Mithun Mitra had reported that his father's condition was critical. 

He mentioned that his father was admitted to the hospital on December 22 due to complications related to old age. 

Tests revealed issues with his lungs, and he was later moved to the ICU. 

This veteran actor was born on August 18, 1943, in Chandina, Comilla. 

His full name was Prabir Kumar Mitra. Growing up in Old Dhaka, Prabir Mitra became involved in theater during his school years. 

He acted in Rabindranath Tagore's play "Dakghar" during his school life. 

Notably, Prabir Mitra entered the film industry with the late H. Akbar's "Jalchhobi" in 1969. In 1982, he won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film "Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo. 

In 2018, he was awarded a lifetime achievement award at the National Film Awards. 

He acted in over four hundred films, including "Titas Ekti Nadir Naam," "Jibon Trishna," "Seyana," "Jaliat," "Fariad," "Rokto Shopoth," "Charitrahin," "Joy Porajoy," "Angar," "Mintu Amar Naam," "Fakir Majnu Shah," "Madhumita," "Ashanto Dheu," "Alankar," "Anurag," "Prottigga," "Tarulota," "Gayer Chele," and "Putrobodhu." Prabir Mitra first won the National Film Award in 1983 for his performance in the film "Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo."
