The police officer Sanjida temporarily suspended. Former Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Sanjida Afrin has been temporarily suspended.
On Sunday night (December 29), a notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs announced her suspension.
Police officer Sanjida is currently serving in the Armed Police Battalion (APBN).
The notification states that during her suspension, she will be attached to the Barisal Range and will receive a subsistence allowance as per regulations.
It is noteworthy that during the student-people's movement, DB officer Jahangir Arif arranged to submit a final report excluding the names of former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Prime Minister's private industry and investment advisor Salman F. Rahman, and former Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) Major General (Retd.) Ziaul Ahsan in two murder cases.
However, the matter became public before the report was submitted.
Later, during questioning, DB officer Jahangir revealed that he had done this at the direction of police officer Sanjida Afrin. In this incident, DB officer Jahangir has already been temporarily suspended from his job.
It is worth mentioning that on the night of September 9, an incident occurred where leaders of the Chhatra League were detained and beaten at Shahbagh police station.
Subsequently, the then proctor of Dhaka University and police officials resolved the matter at the police station in the middle of the night.
In this incident, the name of police officer Sanjida came up.
