There was a chase and counter-chase at the Secretariat gate, with police firing blank shots.
A clash occurred between over a hundred students of Prime Asia University and the police in front of Gate 1 of the Bangladesh Secretariat.
This incident took place on Tuesday (January 7). Demanding the resignation of the permanent campus and the chairman of the trustee board, along with nine other demands, students of Prime Asia University gathered on the road in front of the National Press Club around 2:30 PM.
They stayed there for about 30 minutes before moving towards the Education Building.
According to reports from the scene, a four-member delegation from Prime Asia University went inside to meet with the education advisor.
They were scheduled to meet with the advisor at 4:30 PM. Meanwhile, over a hundred students were waiting outside.
Those waiting became embroiled in a dispute with the police.
The police later charged with batons to control the situation and also fired two rounds of blank shots.
