Ahead of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s visit to Sylhet on Sunday (May 2), Sylhet Metropolitan Police has issued special restrictions to ensure security.
In a public notice signed by Police Commissioner Md. Abdul Quddus Chowdhury on Wednesday (April 29), authorities announced that the use of drones or any aerial devices will be strictly prohibited within 500 meters of the designated routes, locations, and venues.
The restriction also extends up to an altitude of two kilometers in the surrounding airspace, unless prior approval is obtained from authorized authorities.
The notice warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the directive.
Earlier, the police commissioner also issued another notice instructing unregistered online platforms to be removed from domains, highlighting increased security measures ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.
