A five-year-old child named Ahbaf Humaidi Isran died tragically after falling into an uncovered septic tank of a toilet at Gachhbari Bazar in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet.

The heartbreaking incident took place at around 7pm on Friday (July 24).

According to local sources, Ahbaf accidentally fell into the septic tank of an uncovered toilet at the market while playing in the evening. After the family began searching for him, the child was eventually found inside the septic tank of a toilet near their home.

He was rescued and taken to hospital, but he died on the way.

The deceased, Ahbaf Humaidi Isran, was the son of Ahmad Ali, a former security guard at Gachhbari Bazar. He was a student of Narainpur Naya Government Primary School.

The tragic incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the child’s family, relatives and the local community.
