Police arrested three fugitives wanted in multiple warrant cases during overnight raids in various areas of Dirai upazila in Sunamganj.
The arrests were made during operations conducted in different parts of the police station area on Thursday night.
The arrested individuals are wanted in cases filed with several police stations in Sylhet and Sunamganj.
Police said the operation was conducted under the leadership of Dirai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aminul Islam, following instructions from the Sunamganj Superintendent of Police. A police team including Sub-Inspector Mohammad Asadul Islam and Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdul Motaleb took part in the operation.
During the operation, police arrested Mohammad Farhad Chowdhury, 26, of Kulanj village in Dirai upazila. He was wanted in a warrant issued in a case involving attempted murder and assault filed with Gowainghat Police Station in Sylhet.
Police also arrested Ekram, 39, of Bharargaon village, who was wanted in a gambling case filed with Dirai Police Station.
Another arrested individual, Saddam Hossain, 29, of Tongor village, was wanted in three cases, including an arms case filed with Shahporan (R.) Police Station in Sylhet and a theft case filed with Jagannathpur Police Station.
Confirming the arrests, Dirai Police Station OC Aminul Islam said arrest warrants had been issued by courts against the individuals in multiple cases. They had been in hiding for a long time and were arrested during raids based on confidential information.
The arrested individuals were later sent to the court under police escort.
