Sylhet, Bangladesh: The government has appointed 93 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) across the country, with five officers assigned to the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) as Assistant Police Commissioners (APCs).
According to a notification issued by Police Headquarters on Monday (July 27), the officers will officially join the Sylhet Metropolitan Police after successfully completing their mandatory training.
Officers Assigned to Sylhet Metropolitan Police
The five officers appointed as Assistant Police Commissioners in Sylhet are:
- Kanchan Kumar Dev, currently undergoing training as an Assistant Superintendent of Police with Sunamganj District Police.
- Md. Abu Sayeed, currently receiving training with Habiganj District Police.
- Chowdhury Ferdous Jamil, presently serving as a trainee Assistant Superintendent of Police with Gazipur District Police. He will join SMP upon completing his training.
- Md. Mizanur Rahman, currently undergoing training with Noakhali District Police, will also join the Sylhet Metropolitan Police after finishing his training.
- Md. Abdul Kader, who is training as an Assistant Superintendent of Police with Brahmanbaria District Police, will be appointed as an Assistant Police Commissioner in SMP after completing his training.
Police Headquarters said the appointments are part of a nationwide deployment of newly appointed Assistant Superintendents of Police, with officers taking up their assigned positions after the successful completion of their training programs.
