Sylhet, Bangladesh: Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man from a stream inside Kewa Chhara Tea Garden under Airport Police Station in Sylhet.
The body, which was found in a partially decomposed state, was recovered at around 5:00 pm on Monday (July 27) after police responded to a 999 emergency call.
According to police, the deceased is believed to be a man aged approximately 45 years, although his identity has not yet been established.
After recovering the body, Airport Police sent it to the morgue of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
Local residents suspect that the body may have been washed downstream from Gowainghat Upazila through the Chenger Khal River before eventually reaching the stream inside Kewa Chhara Tea Garden.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shahidur Rahman of Sylhet Metropolitan Police's Airport Police Station said the body has been recovered and kept at the morgue for post-mortem examination.
Police are working to identify the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
