Barlekha Correspondent: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Barlekha Upazila unit held a rally and a procession in Barlekha, Moulvibazar, on Wednesday, demanding the implementation of the July Charter.
The rally took place in front of Nurjahan Complex in the afternoon. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Maulana Mohammad Aminul Islam, a member of the Majlis-e-Shura and Executive Council of the Moulvibazar District unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, called for the implementation of the July Charter.
The meeting was presided over by acting Upazila Ameer Maulana Mohammad Islam Uddin and moderated by Upazila Secretary Maulana Abdul Basit. Upazila Nayeb-e-Ameer Faisal Ahmed also addressed the gathering.
Among those present were Upazila Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdullah Al Mahfuz Sumon, Baitul Mal Secretary Md. Helal Uddin, Majlis-e-Shura and Executive Council member as well as Moulvibazar District Youth and Sports Department member and Barlekha Upazila President Muhammad Kamal Uddin, Professionals' Wing President Md. Abdul Mohaimin, Municipal Unit President Jubayer Ahmed, Sadar Union President Rabiul Islam Suhel, Dakshinbhag South Union President Abdus Samad, Nij Bahadurpur Union President Muhammad Abu Taher, Majlis-e-Shura member Maulana Alim Uddin, along with leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir from different levels.
Following the rally, participants brought out a procession that marched through the main streets of Barlekha municipal town.
