Rice has been distributed as humanitarian assistance among families affected by floods and other natural disasters in Juri upazila of Moulvibazar.
Local lawmaker Nasir Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the distribution programme as the chief guest at Jaifarnagar Union Parishad on Thursday afternoon.
The event was chaired by Masum Reza, chairman of Jaifarnagar Union Parishad and president of Juri Upazila BNP. Motiur Rahman Chunu, general secretary of Juri Upazila BNP, was present as a special guest.
Among those present were Jaifarnagar Union BNP President Ishaq Ali, General Secretary Nurul Islam Jubel, UP member Sirajul Islam, Juri Upazila Jubo? Under the humanitarian assistance programme of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, 10 kilograms of rice was provided to each family affected by floods and other natural disasters. The allocation was made in favour of the Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar-1 (Barlekha-Juri) constituency.
