The Sylhet district and metropolitan units of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddher Projonmo (Nationalist Liberation War Generation) Committee have announced a promotional procession in the city on Monday (August 24) to welcome the organisation’s newly formed central committee.
The procession will be held at 2pm under the initiative of the Sylhet district and metropolitan convening committees of the organisation.
According to organisational sources, the procession has been organised to warmly welcome the newly formed central committee to Sylhet and to strengthen the organisation’s activities. The procession will begin from the historic Registry Field premises and pass through major roads in the city.
In a joint statement, Sylhet district convener Advocate Wahidur Rahman (APP) and member secretary Advocate Nizam Uddin, along with metropolitan unit convener Mamun Ahmed and member secretary Abdul Hannan, said the programme was important for upholding the true spirit of the Liberation War and uniting the younger generation amid the current political situation.
They expressed hope that the organisation would become stronger under the newly formed central committee.
The leaders urged all leaders, activists and supporters of the Sylhet district and metropolitan units, as well as young people who support the ideals of the Liberation War, to attend the procession on time and help make the programme a success.
